About HSK Levels

The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi / 汉语水平考试) is China's standardized test of Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers. This list includes vocabulary from both HSK 2.0 (6 levels) and HSK 3.0 (new system, 9 levels - showing levels 1-6).

• HSK 1: 150 words - Basic level
• HSK 2: 300 words - Elementary level
• HSK 3: 600 words - Intermediate level
• HSK 4: 1,200 words - Upper intermediate
• HSK 5: 2,500 words - Advanced level
• HSK 6: 5,000+ words - Mastery level
